Alibaba-owned e-commerce platform Lazada has created LazPitch, an e-commerce talent competition for undergraduate students in Singapore.

Lazada is on the hunt for ambitious, creative talents who share its passion for online retail

The competition invites teams of undergraduates from all subject disciplines to come together to shape the future of the e-commerce industry.

The teams will work together to create and execute an e-commerce campaign, with the winning team securing internships at Lazada to fast-track their e-commerce careers and bring their campaign to life in Singapore. The top three teams will all receive cash prizes.

“Lazada is always on the hunt for ambitious, creative talents who share our passion for online retail, and as the future of online retail, we want to tap into the knowledge and ideas of the young,” said James Chang, chief executive officer of Lazada Singapore.

“By focusing talent development on young people, we want to nurture blooming talent and advance the industry by tapping into their ideas to help us redefine what the online shopping experience looks like for millions of consumers and sellers, and pave the way for the future of commerce. The team at Lazada is looking forward to seeing the creative submissions from Singapore’s next generation of e-commerce talent and our future team members.”

What is LazPitch?

  • LazPitch participants can tap into Lazada’s online retail, entertainment, livestreamed and online-to-offline experiences to develop their skills across these evolving streams through hands-on e-commerce mentorship with Lazada leaders.

  • Key skills that will be enhanced include digital and social marketing, as well as campaign and project management.

  • The top 10 entries will present to a judging panel, where they will be shortlisted to the final five. The teams will then undergo a workshop on how to successfully roll out their campaign across Lazada’s website, app and digital channels in Singapore, equipping them with knowledge and skills to help them embark on their future careers in the industry.

  • Throughout the campaign, mentors will advise teams on strengthening and fine-tuning the execution to achieve tangible real-world results, allowing them to measure the success of their campaigns. In addition to cash prizes, the winning team will be offered internships at Lazada.
