Today’s ‘Ad of the Day’ is DHL’s ode to the seamless flow of e-commerce. Voiced by actor Tom Hollander, the captivating global film captures how etailers and DHL couriers ‘kept up with the clicks’ during the pandemic.

The growth of e-commerce has exploded over the course of the pandemic

If there’s been one savior of the global pandemic, it’s been e-commerce. Indeed during the Covid-stricken year of 2020, the world of e-commerce saw 10 years of growth in just three months, with people totally dependent on online shopping.

That unprecedented level of growth saw DHL work hard to ‘Keep Up With the Clicks’ – best demonstrated by its latest global campaign created by 180 Amsterdam, which captures the simplicity and flexibility the courier service offers to online customers.

Voiced by Tom Hollander (the actor behind that Times ‘A Day in the Life’), the ad uses his rhythmic voiceover to guide the viewer from the early website interfaces of the mid-nineties to the flexible delivery mobile purchases of today.

John Pearson, chief exec of DHL Express, said: “The pandemic has driven digitalization so far that we have seen the development of almost a decade in just a few months. Existing online shops have grown and at the same time companies have entered online retailing for the first time. Our latest campaign shows how, as logistics experts, we help companies keep up with the growth and benefit from it in the best possible way.”
