Channel 4 has announced the appointment of Amber Kirby to the newly-created role of marketing director, reporting to chief marketing officer Zaid Al-Qassab. Kirby will lead Channel 4 Marketing, which is known for its award-winning, bold creativity and innovation, and is responsible for delivering the broadcaster’s brand strategy across its network of channels, as well as all marketing campaigns.
Agencies
Johannes Leonardo, the New York creative agency, has announced the appointment of Julia Neumann as chief creative officer. With the task of leading the agency’s creative and design department, Neumann will be a partner with agency co-founders Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico to cultivate a brave creative culture across the agency’s growing roster.
VMLY&R has hired science veteran Sean Rooney, PhD as its first chief science officer. Rooney, a seasoned medical communications leader, will lead the promotional science team at VMLY&R to help drive the integration of science across the agency’s expanding roster of health sector clients and business.
AKQA has today announced the appointment of Hideaki Hara as general manager for AKQA Tokyo. Hideaki’s appointment is part of the wider China and Japan management transition. Sam Sterling successfully held the role of managing director AKQA China and Japan for three years and was promoted to chief strategy officer, APAC late last year.
Xandr, AT&T’s data-enabled technology platform, today announced the appointment of Ammar Jawad Doosh as senior director, EMEA product management, as well as five recent new hires for Xandr’s marketplace team, specifically focused on curation, as Xandr’s Curate solution continues to grow in popularity with clients.
Award-winning agency network Dentsu International has revealed the appointment of chief equity officer in APAC Rashmi Vikram. Vikram joins from Microsoft, where she was group diversity and inclusivity practice lead, responsible for delivering success by making inclusion a habit, with the aim of creating inclusive products and services for Microsoft’s customers.
