Furniture retailer Sofology has enlisted Hollywood’s gothic queen Helena Bonham Carter to present its latest marketing campaign.

‘Bring Imagination to Life’ invites viewers on a journey of imagination into Carter’s parlor, for a first-hand glimpse at how Sofology furniture and accessories can be used to provide an eclectic and magical backdrop to any home.

Created and produced by the7stars, the 30-second spot opens with Carter delivering a monologue on the meaning of imagination while reclining on a variety of settees. As the camera transitions from the dressing room to a garden room, she tucks into a cup of tea and a slice of golden pineapple cake.

The respected actress then closes proceedings with Sofology’s established strapline: “Feel at home on a sofa you love.”

Carter said: “As an actress, I make my living using my imagination – pretending to be other people. But even when not acting, I try to live my daily life with imagination, otherwise it can be so boring. When we are children, our imagination is in full flow and I think, sometimes, as adults we let it atrophy, we forget to play, have fun and give up on dreams. Sofology’s ‘Bring imagination to Life’ campaign is an appeal to have fun and express the imagination that is unique to you – however different or bonkers we are.”

The television campaign is supported by a mix of online video, print and radio activity and follows a guest appearance by Owen Wilson in the furniture-maker’s 2019 campaign.
