One Minute Briefs celebrates The Drum Chip Shop Awards’ humble origins
One Minutes Briefs has once again partnered with The Drum’s infamous Chip Shop Awards – this time to celebrate the award’s origin story with a brief to design a poster for your local chip shop.
Barnacles Fish and Chip Shop's ad was the inspiration behind the awards
The Drum’s Chip Shop Awards has its origins in the tale of a fish and chip shop in Llandudno, Wales. The shop became the toast of London when its ad campaign surprisingly scooped up multiple awards, despite its small budget.
Since then, the Chip Shop Awards have celebrated creativity without limits, offering a rare chance for creatives to show what they’re capable of when ‘a brilliant idea’ is the only brief.
One Minute Briefs has supported the Chip Shop Awards for several years, giving creatives at every level the opportunity to work on brands and organizations they might never have the chance to otherwise.
This year, the brief is to create a poster for your local chip shop, with the winner of the challenge receiving special recognition at the event ceremony.
Entrants need only tweet submissions to @OneMinuteBriefs and @TheDrum with the hashtag #ChipShop and link to chipshopawards.com by 25 March to be in with a chance of winning. You can find out more here.
