Welcome to Award Winning Stories, a regular video series exploring the stories behind some of the winning work from The Drum Awards.

The latest installment tells the tale of how NHS England launched a recruitment push despite economic uncertainty from Brexit in early 2019, which led to a cut in budget from the Treasury.

The campaign from MullenLowe not only surpassed targets, they beat all metrics year-on-year despite the decrease in media budget. The film features real nurses working in real hospitals, including those working in mental health, district nursing, A&E and learning disabilities.

Lovisa Silburn, creative director at MullenLowe, discusses how the project came about and the success it saw, including winning the Grand Prix at The Drum Awards for Marketing.
