Independent media agency Space & Time Media has announced the appointment of Heather Connearn to its board.
Prior to moving to Space & Time as an account manager in 2010, Connearn worked at local press sales house Mediaforce.
In her transition away from her traditional media background to the expert planning and buying of a diverse range of media platforms, Connearn’s career over the last decade mirrors the evolution of Space & Time and of the media industry as a whole.
Despite so much change in both her own role and the sector more generally, the value of client service has not changed: whatever the media mix on a schedule, the need for transparent, plain-talking and attentive client service remains constant and a key priority to Connearn.
Connearn has been instrumental to the growth of the Manchester team and in creating shared processes and embedding a consistent culture across the entire business.
For the last 12 months, she has been responsible for the restructuring of Space & Time’s award-winning learning and development programme, Space Academy. Ensuring all teams are abreast of the latest media innovations to deliver outstanding client results, the programme offers colleagues a blended approach of in-house pioneer sessions, external courses and a subscription to one of the leading online platforms, LinkedIn Learning.
On taking her position on the board at Space & Time Media, Connearn will continue to shape the agency’s people-centred ethos, ensuring the focus on outstanding client service that has carried her this far remains at the heart of what the agency offers its clients – and that the agency’s staff are properly trained, supported and empowered to deliver against this ambitious aim.
Managing partner Ed Hill said: “We’re all extremely excited about this promotion. Heather’s contribution to Space & Time has always been remarkable in its scale and quality. Having the benefit of her energy and rigour at board level is going to make a huge difference as we continue to shape the future of this business.”
Connearn said: “A decade is a significant portion of a life; a substantial investment into one company. It’s a time that I’m proud to have given to this business and I’m excited to be a part of our continued growth and success”.
