Travel accessory brand El Camino appoints Rooster PR

July 10, 2020 | 3 min read

Handmade customisable travel accessory company El Camino Bracelets has selected Rooster PR to deliver a media programme designed to increase brand awareness and sales in the UK. El Camino joins Rooster’s ever-expanding roster of travel and consumer clients.

El Camino designs and hand-crafts travel bracelets and necklaces, allowing customers to create personalised, customisable accessories that are unique and individual to the customer.

First established in 2013 by Cornwall-based business partners, Candace Kellough and Tom Lane, El Camino was founded on their shared passion for travel, adventure and experiences.

Customers can design, create and order personalised necklaces and bracelets from the El Camino website. An El Camino bracelt helps friends and family to commemorate the places they've visited; each piece serves as a reminder of their past travels and the memories they have made.

El Camino offers a wide range of customised Step Collections beads based on countries, oceans, cities, islands and landmarks, with all designs made by hand. Current best-selling ranges include the recent Lockdown 2020 and Covid-19 Hero 2020 Steps varieties, with 20% of all sales going to NHS charities.

Tasked with handling PR and media relations in the UK, Rooster’s communications strategy will focus on building awareness of the brand and driving positive media endorsement, ultimately to help drive UK sales through the El Camino website.

Rooster will utilise its solid relationships with gifting and shopping editors, travel and tourism press and influencers to position El Camino as the original and best travel accessory.

Candace Kellough, co-founder of El Camino, says: “Rooster was one of my top choices from the beginning after doing lots of research into PR agencies across the UK. We’re confident that Rooster will be able to help create the brand awareness that El Camino needs, and we’re excited to start this partnership together.”

Account director at Rooster, Jo Kendall, who is leading the El Camino account, says: “El Camino is exactly the sort of brand we want to work with at Rooster – not only is it the original travel bracelet brand, it also has so much potential with UK press and influencers. We’re delighted to be partnering with El Camino at this crucial stage of their business development.”

Managing director at Rooster, James Brooke, says: “We’re delighted to be working with El Camino and we look forward to achieving great results for the brand.”
