The Drum has tapped Kenneth Hein as its new US editor. Hein will be leading US coverage for The Drum as it dials up its commitment to providing solutions that help its readers make better business decisions.
The move marks Hein’s return to journalism after a decade as a communications executive. Most recently, Hein led US communications at Dentsu Aegis Network. Prior to that he helped build the award-winning business-to-business agency Gyro into the Advertising Age and ANA B2B Agency of the Year. Gyro was ultimately acquired by Dentsu. Additionally, he helmed US communications for J Walter Thomson.
Before moving agency side, Hein spent 15 years as an editor covering marketing and advertising at Brandweek, Adweek and other top publications. He is the recipient of a D&AD Pencil, the Jesse H. Neal Award for Excellence in Journalism, the Ad Club President’s Award as well as numerous other accolades. He has also served on the New York Festivals Public and Media Relations Grand Jury, twice, as well as The Drum PR and B2B Brave Awards Juries.
