Singapore Press Holdings creates content aggregation site to help people stay at home

The Singapore government this week announced a further four weeks of lockdown measures, which it is calling the ‘circuit breaker’, requiring people to stay at home until 1 June.

The publisher has brought together content from across its portfolio of media brands under a single Stay Home SPH website, to help users find relevant content to their language or interests.

The website hosts video content sourced from The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao, SPH Magazines, and SPH Radio stations, and videos from additional partners. The content will cover lifestyle genres such as recipes, cooking tips, fashion features, celebrity interviews, gadget reviews, and health content.

Anthony Tan, deputy chief executive of SPH, said: ”All of us are doing our best to cope with the disruptions to our lives caused by the Covid-19 crisis. With the extension of the circuit breaker, SPH hopes to make your days brighter with entertaining and engaging content that you can enjoy as we all do our part to stay home, and stay safe.”

As well as aggregating video content, the publisher has programmed a series of live shows around topics such as exercise, cooking and learning.

Many publishers have adapted their content output in recognition that audiences lives have changed dramatically since being asked or forced to stay at home. Verizon has made a closer link between its content and online shopping, a move that it hopes will help brands reach consumers at this time.
