Havas acquires Cicero for ‘strategic advice’ boost

Havas acquires Cicero to boost ‘strategic advice’ capabilities

Havas has broadened its corporate communications and public affairs portfolio with the acquisition of Cicero which will be folded within its AMO communications consultancy arm.

To be known henceforth as Cicero/AMO, the business specialises in offering a full-service suite of communications and market research offerings spanning corporate PR, public affairs, market research and digital communications.

In its new guise, Cicero/AMO will add to its repertoire in collaboration with Maitland/AMO to offer strategic advice on investor relations, media relations and research throughout Europe.

Yannick Bolloré, chairman and chief executive of Havas Group said: “Cicero’s entrepreneurial spirit and drive for excellence make them a natural fit within the Havas Group. The addition of Cicero to our AMO network reinforces our ability to develop best-in-class strategic advice to our clients in the UK and beyond. A warm welcome to the team!”

Iain Anderson, executive chairman at Cicero/AMO, added: “The need for expert, political, research-led and corporate communications counsel has never been greater. Specialist market and regulatory understanding have become a ‘must-have’ for businesses looking to navigate today’s political and media landscape. This deal ensures we will stay ahead of the curve. We will combine our world-class services to create the leading strategic communications offer and access the specialisms, expertise and creativity of both the AMO and the Havas networks.”

Havas Group has ploughed $100m into its burgeoning AMO network as it bets big on corporate and financial communications over the next five years.
