Parker arrives at the drinks brand following a spell at rivals Diageo, where she held a number of senior brand and marketing roles.

Tasked with driving global strategy, Parker will report directly to chief exec Mahesh Madhavan, and will work alongside global chief marketing officer John Burke.

Further down the chain of command Martin de Dreuille and Adrian Parker, respective vice-presidents of global marketing for the Grey Goose and Patron brands, will report to Parker.

On her appointment, Madhavan said: “Kathy’s track record for delivering transformational growth on the brands she leads is truly impressive, and we are delighted to have her at the helm of Grey Goose and Patron, two brands that continue to captivate consumers and are critical to our long-term success.”

Parker, who will relocate to Bermuda in August for the role, added: “Leading these two iconic brands which truly define their respective categories is a marketer’s dream.”

Bacardi began its hunt for a new chief marketing officer last summer with the departure of Lee Applbaum.
