To mark the release of the ninth Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker, Burger King Germany is offering a free Whopper to customers who dare to read a spoiler out loud.

Released today, the latest edition of the sci-fi franchise is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Latching onto the hype, Burger King is daring its customer's to choose between free fast food or a spoiler-free movie experience.

As part of the Star Wars campaign, Burger King designed a 'spoiler restaurant' where details of the film can be found in a variety of places, including the names of items on the menu, writing on the straws and sound chips on the packaging that play film secrets when opened.

Burger King has now set about putting die-hard fans to the test, inviting them to come and sit within the spoiler restaurant, enjoy a free meal while trying to avoid the key plot points.

Careful not to violate copyright laws - Burger King refrains from mentioning the film directly by delicately re-phrasing references, including alluding to Kylo Ren as "the dead hooded villain."

This is Burger King's latest attempt at provocative stunts that tap into contemporary culture hype.

This year alone, it has sheltered McDonald's customers from evil clowns in IT promotion and released an 'Upside Down Whopper' in anticipation of Stranger Things return.
