This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

The moves include those from Diageo, Evening Standard, The Guardian, Dentsu Aegis Network and the Premier League.

EMEA people are on the move

Evening Standard

Evening Standard has made several key appointments. Nancy Durrant joins from The Times as arts commissioning editor. Susie Butter is re-joining Evening Standard, where she was previously deputy features editor, in the role of comment editor and senior features writer. Vicky Frost has been appointed editor of Future London. Frost was previously executive editor for life at HuffPost UK, and before that deputy membership editor at the Guardian.

Malaysia Airlines

Malaysia Airlines has promoted Richard De Villa to head of marketing for the UK and Europe. He will be overseeing the increased investment in trade as well as consumer market activity.

The Guardian

The Guardian has appointed chief customer officer Anna Bateson as interim chief executive. She replaces the newspaper group’s former chief executive David Pemsel, who announced his resignation in October.

Premier League

Former Guardian chief executive David Pemsel has stepped down from the top job at the Premier League less than two months after accepting the role. It comes after a slew of media reports containing allegations about his private life.

Grey London

Grey London creative chairman Adrian Rossi is stepping down from the role after serving less than a year. The agency poached Rossi from AMV BBDO London in December 2018 in the newly created creative chairman role. However, a spokesperson said that they have since "parted ways."

Diageo

Alan McGarrie has been appointed brand home and retail marketing manager at Diageo with the experienced Scottish marketer making the move from Tennent Caledonian Breweries where he was global brand director. In his new role, he is charged with developing and implementing marketing, PR, and events plans for JW Edinburgh and also the new Madrid office.

R/GA

R/GA's EMEA boss Matt Lodder is to depart after seven and a half years at the agency. He has left to explore other leadership roles.

UKTV

Simon Michaelides has been promoted to UKTV's chief marketing and innovation officer following the departure of Zoë Clapp last week. As chief marketing and communications officer, he will lead the marketing, consumer communications, social and online, media creative and innovation teams - alongside an area of transformative activity known as content and product funding.

Havas Media

Havas Media Manchester has appointed Lucy Barnes to the newly-created role of strategy partner, as the regional hub seeks to further strengthen its leadership team.

APAC people on the move

Dentsu Aegis Network

Nick Waters has left Dentsu Aegis Network after a decade at the agency, most recently serving as its executive chairman for the UK and Ireland.

Waters joined the group in 2010 as chief executive of Aegis Media Asia Pacific and, following the acquisition by Dentsu, became chief executive officer of the region.

PHD

Mark Coad is stepping down as chief exec of PHD Australia to join IPG Mediabrands as Australia chief exec. Mark Jarrett has been promoted from his role as managing director to take over from Coad.

Dentsu Aegis Network

Dentsu Aegis Network has grabbed Omnicom Media Group's APAC chief, Cheuk Chiang, to lead it Greater North business from Shanghai.

Cheil Worldwide

Jayanta Jenkins has moved on from his near year-long stint at HP, joining Cheil Worldwide as its global executive creative director for Samsung Mobile.

Colle McVoy

Colle McVoy has appointed Jessica Henrichs as managing director, head of client growth. Henrichs will lead the brand leadership group, overseeing client partnerships while augmenting the agency’s digital and data science offerings.

TripleLift

After over three years with IBM, Jordan Bitterman is joining TripleLift as its first chief marketing officer. He leaves his role as vice-president, digital strategy and sales at IBM.

David&Goliath

David&Goliath has appointed Michele Tebbe to chief marketing officer and Josh Miller to executive creative director. Tebbe will lead the D&G brand and will develop and foster new business relationships. Miller will help manage the creative department including talent mentorship and overseeing creative for clients such as California Lottery and Auto–Owners Insurance.

Second Story

Publicis-owned design studio Second Story has elevated Joel Krieger to chief creative officer following nearly seven years with the company.
