Facebook Portal unites a face masked Kim Kardashian West with J Lo and A-Rod
Facebook is pushing its Portal technology with star-studded social videos featuring Kim Kardashian West, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez.

Lopez and Kardashian West have been friends for years, so the story goes, and despite leading very busy lives and residing on separate coasts, the two always try to find time to keep in touch about everything.
By utilizing Portal from Facebook, the duo can be in the same room together. Sometimes that includes J Lo’s fiancé, Rodriguez, also shows up.
Starting today (27 November) Facebook is debuting a series of three videos on social media featuring the stars. The campaign celebrates their friendship, brought to life through video calls over Portal. Through Portal’s Smart Camera, which automatically adjusts to keep them in frame, they’re able to feel together, even when they’re miles apart.
In the first video, ‘Quality Time,’ the two are seen chatting wearing beauty masks – Lopez in pink and Kardashian West in green. They start talking about their “top secret” ideas for their holiday party when former baseball star Rodriguez enters the room with Lopez, dressed in identical pajamas and face mask, causing an awkward silent moment.
To see the rest of the videos, Facebook is urging fans to tune into the stars’ social channels, as well as the Portal from Facebook social channels (@portalfromfacebook on Instagram and Facebook and @portalfacebook on Twitter). The spots have been created to help promote the technology and push a holiday promotion deal.
