In effect, Kavanagh is taking the reins on the company outside of North America. She will report into Amy Emmerich, global president and chief content officer.
Kavanagh is responsible for leading Refinery29’s digital business internationally. Reach, relevance, revenue and expansion comes under her remit.
The international operation, headquartered out of London, oversees English, German and French language editions, as was established by Kate Ward in 2015.
Kavanagh has helped Refinery29 achieve record growth since joining in 2017, with revenue lifting by over 100% in 2018. She previously held senior roles at Conde Nast and Vice Media.
