Mariah Carey transforms her Christmas anthem into a fully-fledged album on Spotify

25 years down the line and Mariah Carey's Christmas anthem is still one of the most played Christmas songs in the UK - racking up 520 million streams on Spotify.

Not only this, according to Spotify data, it has been added to 12 million playlists and has been treated to 1,000 covers, from artists like Michael Bublé, Milos Foreman, Clementine Duo and Fifth Harmony.

Keen to tap into this popularity, Spotify has revisited 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' - by multiplying the single tune into a fully-fledged album titled - 'Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You Enhanced Album.'

The 'enhanced' album will only be available on Spotify. It is curated from original content that complements the original tune, containing the festive hits 'O Holy Night,' 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) and 'Joy to the World.'

It is accompanied by an exclusive video, where Carey is in her 'Christmas control center' preparing for the holiday season. Unable to contain herself any longer, she decides to kick things into high gear and presses a button to officially announce the start of Christmas and unlock her enhanced album on Spotify.

This is the second time this festive season that Mariah has surfaced. Walkers crisps has also enlisted the superstar to reprise her holiday favourite. In the spot. Carey is seen belting out the timeless classic amid a stereotypical Christmas setting but things go off script when the star becomes embroiled in a tug of war with a hungry elf for the last bag of Walkers Pigs in Blankets on set.
