At last week's annual World Travel Market, held at London's ExCel center, Contiki unveiled its new Alexa voice-activated experience, which helps budding travellers pack their bags.

FX Digital are behind new Alexa skill from Contiki.

The company's global head of content, Lottie Norman, revealed the newly-launched voice skill, which was built by FX Digital.

This capability can be added to Alexa's pre-existing list of skills by providing young travellers with a more connected experience ahead of their trips.

Programmed to ask questions such as 'where travellers are going on their trip?', the voice-activated guide can then reel off various Contiki adventures available within that country and supply travellers with tailored packing lists, to ensure that they don't forget anything.

As the app reels through various items, users can vocally add them to a list, which Alexa will send on digitally, enabling travellers to check they have everything they need.

The trade show session also touched on how travel brands were leveraging new technologies to increase customer engagement.

Norman explained that Contiki were utilising voice as a new medium, which meant that they could interact further with potential and active customers.

Contiki has also released an Out of Office podcast for travellers, available on Apple, Acast and Spotify.
