Creative recruitment agency network DMCG Global has appointed experienced director Natasha Stark to head up its newly formed Amsterdam office. An exciting time in the on-going international growth in the partnership of Daniel Marks and MCG&Co since forming the alliance DMCG Global earlier this year. Stark joins with a global network of contacts across the advertising and marketing space.
The alliance has allowed Daniel Marks and MCG&Co to bring a global solution to their clients with peace of mind over quality of service, industry expertise and local market knowledge. This follows the trend of being more consolidated and collaborative as a way of working.
With office locations of DMCG Global now in seven territories including London, Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore the network is able to service multinational clients and assist candidates at a global level across multiple territories.
Daniel Marks and MCG&Co Group are market leaders in their respective territories, by creating a strategic alliance it allows both businesses to partner and refer trusted clients across territories to ensure a continued high level of service to a greater market. For candidates this further provides great opportunities in an increasingly connected world.
Specialising in the advertising, creative, marketing, communications and technology industries for agencies and brands, both businesses are well aligned in their client base. Offering a bespoke, targeted and holistic approach to recruitment with a focus on speed, quality, service and industry knowledge.
Stark has been living in Amsterdam for the last five years with her husband and has also started a family there. The agency and brand scene has developed so much in Amsterdam over the last five years, it’s almost unrecognisable. There are new areas with offices and homes cropping up all over Amsterdam to support the ever-growing demand for a better work/ life balance. Over this period, industry publications have regularly covered the success of agencies such as W&K, 180 and 72 & Sunny but believe it or not there are many others innovating and unsurprisingly it’s the brands themselves who are the talk of the town. Heineken, Booking.com and Philips are a few that are experiencing huge growth with many able to compete creatively with the agencies.
Since moving from London to Amsterdam, Stark adds: “The lifestyle here nurtures creativity, it’s diverse and has a great work culture and the ability to speak English is pretty handy.”
“The combination of small start-ups and big advertising agencies and digital agencies as well as big brands who are already based here in Amsterdam like Nike, Diageo, Unilever all make up the landscape here”.
It might be because of Brexit and it might be because Amsterdam is only a 40 minute flight from London that many creatives, developers and account handlers are looking at a career in this English speaking, creatively led culture. You can live in Central Amsterdam, cycle to work and experience a slightly slower pace of life – So what is there not to like?!? Amsterdam is also attracting talent from Scandinavia, Germany, France and the United States. It’s widely known that people are given a 12 month contract in Amsterdam before both parties commit longer term and it seems to be working well. The chance of getting your visa sponsored is also higher too compared to places like London.
Dan Matthews - CEO, Daniel Marks, Co-Founder, DMCG Global says, “Amsterdam is a global creative hub and a city where both Daniel Marks and MCG&Co were keen to have a local presence. The opportunity to open a dedicated office in Amsterdam within the DMCG Global network is exciting and complements the groups talent offering with growing offices in London, New York, LA, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore.”
“We’ll be able to use our global network to service our clients and candidates in Amsterdam more effectively with a dedicated local office and a Director of Natasha’s experience at the helm. Having lived in Amsterdam for the last 6 years, Natasha knows the market well and had been recommended to us on a number of occasions. Natasha’s vision and ambition was mirrored with myself and Justin, with the timing just right as DMCG Global have been looking to expand in key creative markets.” Enthused Dan Matthews.
Justin McGuire - CEO, MCG&Co Group, Co-Founder, DMCG Global said “Amsterdam was a natural move for our group to expand into. DMCG already have active clients on the ground using our services and globally we have clients and candidates looking to move into Amsterdam and other key European cities such as Berlin, Barcelona and Frankfurt. The city is a celebrated creative powerhouse, so for us, a natural place to be. Natasha was an obvious choice as she has lived and worked in Amsterdam for many years and well respected and networked by the creative and start-up community. Our team are very excited at the launch of our seventh office and to be working with Natasha to grow our European offering”
