She will be taking on the largest region for Wavemaker by revenue, as Europe accounts for over half of its business, according to the company. As such her role will also see her become part of the Wavemaker global leadership team.

Taking up the role in early 2020, she’ll report to Wavemaker chief executive officer Toby Jenner and continue to be based in the UK. Stubbs joins not long after Jenner himself joined the agency from MediaCom, ushering in further fresh talent to its leadership team.

Ruth Stubbs added, “Joining Wavemaker under the new leadership of Toby is a great opportunity, and I’m relishing the challenge of steering the agency forward into a new era. Wavemaker is one of the world’s biggest media agencies, full of smart, talented people, and I’m looking forward to being part of it.”

Stubbs had been at iProspect since 2011, joining the business as the chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region before moving into the global role in 2016, still being based in Singapore. Handing Stubbs the president role was significant as it shifted the global leadership of iProspect to APAC.

While at the Dentsu Aegis Network agency, Stubbs was widely credited with driving the agency’s fund for female entrepreneurs in developing markets, a joint venture between Dentsu Aegis Network and Dentsu Ventures, the agency group’s investment arm.

Prior to Dentsu Aegis Network, Stubbs held leadership positions at Mediabrands and GroupM Interaction in APAC.
