Allianz Partners to 'redefine' brand marketing with hire of Virgin’s James Libor

Allianz has appointed Virgin marketer James Libor as head of marketing.



The insurance group said his first task will be “redefining” the brand and communications strategy for Allianz Partners, with its marketing and design division set to expand as a result.

Tim Tozer, chief executive of Allianz Partners said: “The experience that James brings in the travel and digital sectors, along with his proven ability to develop judicious strategic partnerships, makes him the perfect person to take on the challenge of head of marketing, as we drive forward in developing our offering in the B2B2C and B2B UK markets.”

He has joined after more than seven years operating in various marketing roles with Virgin Holidays, the leisure arm of Virgin Atlantic. He most recently oversaw all brand, digital and performance media, driving customer acquisition.

“I’m fortunate to be joining Allianz Partners UK at one of its most exciting times,” he said. “There is a clear focus on expanding our digital capability and I firmly believe that an advanced consumer-centric and data driven approach will enable us to grow. We have a wealth of knowledge that already exists in the marketing team here and I’m confident that our new strategic frameworks will bring great benefit to our customers and clients alike.”

Allianz Partners' sister brand Allianz's marketing activity has been subdued in recent years. It launched a major marketing push in 2013 and again in 2015. Since then it’s focused on digital activity, and it's currently running a video series called ‘Explorers Talk’ where it interviews people from a variety of industries.
