SiriusXM merges chief marketer roles at flagship brand and Pandora
SiriusXM has combined the chief marketer positions of its Pandora and flagship brands into one role, handing the top job to former TD Ameritrade chief marketer, Denise Karkos.
Karkos joins from TD Ameritrade
Aimée Lapic, Pandora’s chief marketing officer since 2017, has left the company, a spokesperson confirmed.
Karkos, meanwhile, will report to Jennifer Witz, SiriusXM's president of sales, marketing and operations, who previously held the chief marketer job at the flagship brand. The new recruit will be the first marketer to oversee both the SiriusXM and Pandora brands since the latter was bought by the former last year.
Karkos, who worked between TD Ameritrade and TD Bank since 2006, will be tasked with overseeing brand and digital marketing with the goal of growing the user and subscriber base of both audio platforms.
She was previously responsible for brand, advertising, social media, content marketing, corporate communications, marketing analytics, tech and operations at the broker.
Witz said: “Denise is exceptionally innovative and forward-thinking and we are very pleased and excited that she will be leading our marketing efforts as we continue to grow the SiriusXM and Pandora brands.
“She and her team will execute a cohesive marketing strategy to drive brand relevance and consideration through to customer conversion, with a deep focus on digital, social and mobile marketing."
The Drum was awaiting comment from Lapic at the time of publication.
