Global creative agency Sunshinegun has celebrated young creative Simphiwe Mnguni's win at the Loeries 2019.

Mnguni was awarded top young creative at the Africa and the Middle East’s biggest advertising and design awards festival. She won the Brand South Africa Young Creatives Award at this year's ceremony, which is quite remarkable given the fact that she only graduated from college four years ago.

Since graduating, Mnguni has been involved in producing important work within Sunshinegun's portfolio, including a design contribution to the Nando’s global visual identity system and its new crockery range. These were even multiple Loerie Award winners in previous years and a Grand Prix design winner in 2016.

Mnguni spent some time in her childhood working with famous design icon and South African contemporary artist, Esther Mahlangu, whose influence on her work is notable, including her interest in implementing the Ndebele culture in her creative output.

Sunshinegun creative director and founding partner, Bronwen Rautenbach said; "Simps has Africa, and will soon have the world at her feet. She has a bright future ahead as a creative leader in our industry, hopefully paying it forward by growing future young creatives!"
