Havas strengthens presence in India after buying digital agency Langoor

Havas Group acquires Langoor to strengthen its presence in India

Havas has acquired the Indian digital agency Langoor with the aim to strengthen its digital skills locally and to increase presence in India by the end of 2019.

As part of the acquisition, Langoor will be rebranded as Langoor Havas and will be led by its co-founder Venugopal Ganganna, who will take on the newly-created position of chief digital officer, Havas India, reporting to Rana Barua – group chief executive officer of Havas India.

This is Havas's second acquisition in India after Think Design, which they acquired earlier this year.

Vishnu Mohan, chairman and chief executive of Havas at India and South East Asia said: “The acquisition will reinforce our integrated offering and digital expertise in India and complement our existing capabilities. I am delighted to welcome Langoor to the Havas family.”

Ruchir Punjabi and Venu Ganganna, co-founders of Langoor in a joint statement said: “We pride ourselves in having created an agency focused on digital brand thinking – which is the future. The integration within Havas Group will add scale to the depth of our services and help us to grow even further. This acquisition is an incredible opportunity for Langoor and the team and we are excited to be part of this new journey towards further success."

The acquisition is part of the company’s ‘Together’ strategy which seeks to intensify integration for clients after merging its creative and media under one regional P&L.
