This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.
This week includes moves from 4Creative, BBC, IPG and Unlimited Group.
BBC Global News
BBC Global News has been expanding its commercial team. The latest appointment in this expansion is Warren Harding who will take the role of vice-president Western Europe, advertising sales and commercial partnerships.
Unlimited Group, an agency network boasting Splendid, TMW and Nelson Bostock Unlimited, has appointed Amanda Morrisey as chief client officer.
Control v. Exposed
Paul Frampton has joined Goodway Group’s Control v. Exposed (CvE) as its chief executive for its newly-launched European arm. He was previously Havas Media Group UK chief executive.
Havas has bolstered its business team with the appointment of two additional business directors. Lucinda Johnson joins from Omnicom Media Group UK, where she was marketing and new business director, to work across Havas’ media agencies, while Will Hooker joins from AMV BBDO, where he was senior new business account director, to work across Havas’ creative agencies.
4Creative, Channel4’s in-house creative agency has named Havas London’s Lynsey Atkin as executive creative director, taking over the role from Alice Tonge who departed earlier this year.
Frances Ralston-Good has been appointed as MediaCom’s global account director for Procter & Gamble’s media planning and buying account in 30 markets.
Print Scotland has appointed Iain Robertson as president. He will serve a two-year term. Susan Graham, a senior executive at Charles Letts, has been appointed vice-president.
Pearl & Dean
Pearl & Dean has appointed Gavin Worrell as group finance director, and Jenny Douglass as head of operations.
Way to Blue
Way to Blue has appointed digital marketing leader Neil Kleiner as the managing director of its UK operation. Prior to this role, Kleiner was head of social and content at Golin and UK head of social at Havas Media.
Lazaros Nikiforidis has been hired by Digitas UK as executive creative director. He arrives from WPP’s Global Team Blue where he held the same role.
Rupert Howell has announced he is to depart the publisher Reach after six years. He has said he wants to focus on his portfolio of non-executive directorships.
Ovo Energy has boosted its tech credentials with the appointment of two new senior hires. Bringing with them a wealth of experience, David Allison and Rich Jones join as technology director and product director, respectively
Hearst Magazines Europe
James Wildman has been named president of Hearst Magazines Europe. He first joined the publisher as UK president and chief exec in 2017. In addition to his UK responsibilities, he will oversee Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.
Encore Digital Media
Media veteran Marc Mendoze has been appointed Encore Digital Media’s non-executive chairman.
The & Partnership
Creative partner Dave Bedwood has left The & Partnership after two years. He has said he is exploring other opportunities.
Stink Studios chief executive James Morris has departed the production firm to join Dentsu Aegis, where he will head up its Entertainment and Sports divisions. Morris led Stink for just over three years. Prior to that he spent five years at Mediacom.
David has hired Fred Bosch as creative director and Alex Sánchez as head of social media. Both hail from Lola Mullenlowe.
Grey Group has elevated Nirvik Singh as chief operating officer of Grey Group, a new global position.
Dentsu Aegis Network
Dentsu Aegis Network has promoted Ashish Bhasin from chief executive officer of DAN Greater South to newly created role of chief executive, APAC based out of Singapore.
TheAsianparent has hiredSusana Tsui as chief exec of media. Tsui joins theAsianparent's senior leadership team as part of its strategy to strengthen theAsianparent brand across both new and mature markets.
Rohini Saldanha is joining Wunderman Thompson, South Asia as director corporate communications, South Asia.
BBC Studios has created a newly formed Asia-Pacific regional business comprising its international sales and distribution business. Jon Penn, formerly managing director, Australia & New Zealand, BBC Studios, will lead.
DDB Hong Kong
DDB Group Hong Kong has strengthened its creative leadership with the addition of Frankie Fung as executive creative director. The appointment marks Fung’s return to DDB Group Hong Kong with the creative, having previously worked at the DDB between 2011 and 2015.
McCann Worldgroup Japan
McCann Worldgroup Japan has promoted Antony Cundy, chief client officer, to president and chief exec of McCann Worldgroup. In his new role, he will continue to drive integration amongst the group companies to provide meaningful solutions to clients.
Kia has appointed Karim Habib as senior vice-president and head of Kia Design Center. Habib’s appointment will enable Kia to continue enhancing the design competitiveness of its brand and products. He will be based at Kia’s global design headquarters in Namyang, Korea.
B2B agency Gyro has renewed leadership of its New York office with the promotion of Kim Corrigan as managing director.
IPG Mediabrands boss Philippe Krakowsky has been promoted to the holding group’s chief operating rolein recognition of his decade of service so far.
Wunderman Thompson has hired Cleve Gibbon as chief technology officer in North America. He arrives at the agency from Cognifide – the WPP marketing technology consultancy.
Publicis Sapient has hired Kristi Erickson as global chief talent officer at Publicis’ digital transformation hub. She will work directly with chief exec Nigel Vaz.
Knoxville, Tennessee-based Tombras has appointed Jeff Benjamin as its first chief creative officer. Benjamin, who has held the chief creative officer title at Crispin Porter Bogusky and JWT North America, was most recently a partner and executive creative director at Barton F Graf.
Luca Gallarelli has been hired as the group chief exec for TBWA\South Africa. She is to replace Sean Donovan who was tapped for the role of President, TBWA\Asia earlier this year.
R/GA has hired Alex Sehnaoui as senior vice-president global managing director, growth and development. Sehnaoui will lead an international team and partner closely with regional leadership to drive growth across new and existing client relationships.
Marenco Chase has been hired as Firewood Marketing's first chief operating officer to support its continued growth across the agency’s seven offices. Chase most recently served as chief operating officer at Verizon’s in-house creative agency 140.
Dawn Yemma, who has worked on advertising campaigns for brands ranging from American Express to Volkswagen to Skippy peanut butter and more, has joined Level Mpls as chief creative officer.
