Toyota and Team GB pair up for Westfield London activation

Toyota and Ocean Outdoor have crystallized their Team GB partnership in the form of an out-of-home activation at Westfield London to prepare shoppers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

I Am Team GB has seen the retail mecca transformed into the hub of a series of nationwide events which will culminate in a mammoth sports day to be held on 24 August led by four-time Olympic gold medalist Laura Kenny.

The activity has aimed to encourage the adoption of more active lifestyles among the general population as well as provide a platform for the public to express their support for Team GB.

Tom Whiteside, Toyota GB sponsorship manager, commented: “As an official partner of Team GB, it has been hugely beneficial to be able to work with another member of the Team GB partner stable in Ocean Outdoor, which has enabled us to grow awareness of the ‘I Am Team GB’ participation campaign significantly by utilising their digital OOH network.”

Kevin Henry, Ocean head of content and sponsorship, added: “This is the first in a series of activations we have planned in collaboration with Team GB, Toyota and other partners in the run up to Tokyo 2020. Toyota is all about driving sustained growth in physical activity inspired by Team GB – and Ocean’s full motion screens and experiential spaces are central to the delivery of that message.”

The I Am Team GB campaign will extend to 30 Ocean screens across six UK cities following an agreement to extend a content partnership taken in 2016.
