Danone launches Actimel fruit and veg-cultured shot

Danone has unveiled Actimel Fruit & Veg Cultured Shots in the UK, as a way of revolutionising the juice and smoothie category.

Created by global independent branding and innovation agency Dragon Rouge, the new Actimel Fruit & Veg Cultured Shots are aimed at younger consumers.

Based on research which reveals that consumers like smoothies but restrict the amount they drink because of their high calorie count, the new shots boast fewer than 50 calories per bottle. The new drink balances healthy side effects, such as immune system support and L. Casei cultures, with the delicious taste of a smoothie.

The new drink is launching in three flavours, blending fruit, one vegetable and one on-trend ingredient with Actimel's signature fermented milk and L Casei cultures in each mixture. The flavours are: strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, elderberry and chai spices; mango, orange, peach, mandarin, carrot and turmeric; and apple, kiwi, pear, cucumber, spinach, spirulina and mint.

None of the drinks contain added sugar.

Dragon Rouge was tasked with creating a minimalistic package design that promoted the product's natural and healthy character, which was developed in part by Danone’s partner Sign Salad.

Actimel Fruit & Veg Cultured Shots will be available in all stores in Ireland from late July, while UK consumers can purchase them in Ocado from July 29th and wider convenience stores from September onwards.
