This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Airbnb

Airbnb has hired a creative director to lead its in-house creative hub in EMEA, poaching Edward Vince from Facebook. Based in London, Vince will lead Airbnb Creative in the region – overseeing an internal multi-disciplinary team of creatives across design, photography, video, experiential, interactive and social.

Jungle Creations

Jungle Creations has appointed Harley Johnson as head of new business from viral rival LadBible. Johnson comes into the London HQ to replace Will Hamnett, who left to operate Jungle's commercial strategy in the US and attract some of the world's largest brands.

Essence

Essence has promoted Claire Grinton to senior vice-president, experience strategy. She has been tasked with leading its creative, content and Innovation, and digital technology practices across its EMEA client roster.

We Are Social

We Are Social has appointed Lore Oxford as its first global head of culture and insights. In the newly-created role, Oxford will be responsible for diversifying the agency’s research and insight function.

Verizon Media

Self-anointed digital prophet David Shing – aka Shingy – has departed his role at Verizon Media. The Australian marketing veteran joined AOL in 2007 as a marketing director and has been with the company through its transformations into Oath and Verizon Media.

Vizeum

Dentsu Aegis Network has wooed Mike McCoy to serve as UK chief executive of Vizeum, a role he will pick up from September. McCoy has come full circle since beginning his career at Aegis Media, the precursor to Dentsu Aegis Network, back in 2000.

Cherry London

Marketing company Cherry London has welcomed industry heavyweight Mark Stevenson as its new managing director.

Engine

Matt Willifer, the chief strategy officer DFEngine's newly-created creative and brand experience division – is to depart the company after eight years.

Media Chain

Media Chain has appointed Jon Edwards as head of sales. Jon previously held the role of brand partnerships account director at LadBible. At Media Chain, Edwards will be based in London and will hold responsibility of all its brand partnership sales across the UK.

Maison Dentsu

Maison Dentsu has appointed Alexandre Sap as chief entertainment and luxury officer, in charge of leading Dentsu France’s cultural marketing offering.

Posterscope

Posterscope has appointed Claire Kimber to the newly-created role of group innovation director. Kimber will lead Posterscope UK’s multiply innovation department, delivering pioneering creative solutions across the company’s entire client base.

Dazn

Dazn has hired Paul Sexton-Chadwick as senior vice-president commercial propositions. He has been tasked with driving its strategy and execution for commercial premises and other B2B commercial enterprise opportunities.

Vault49

Brand design agency Vault49 has appointed Jonathan Bateman as design director at its London office.

APAC people on the move

Dentsu Aegis Network

Dentsu Aegis Network India has promoted its chief operations officer Deven Dharamdasani to the role of chief exec, SVG Media to replace Anurag Gupta who passed away in July. Nitin Sabharwal, former chief business officer, SVG Columbus, has now been elevated to chief operating officer.

BWM Dentsu

TBWA Melbourne group planning director, Paul Arena, has departed the agency to join BWM Dentsu as executive strategy director.

Canva

Matthew Rossi has left Koala's in-house creative team after two years. He is joining Canvas's team as head of creative.

GroupM

Kyoko Matsushita has been named the new global chief executive for Essence, replacing Christian Juhl who was recently given the top job at GroupM. Matsushita most recently served as Essence’s global chief client officer and chief executive for Essence in APAC.

FCB

FCB has hired Andrés Ordóñez as chief creative officer of FCB Chicago, coming over from Energy BBDO. Ordóñez joins president Michael Fassnacht in leading the agency and will work closely with global chief creative officer Susan Credle. He will also be a part of FCB’s Global Creative Council.

In addition FCB Brasil announced that FCB veteran Ricardo John will take on the dual role of chief executive officer and chief creative officer at the agency, beginning September 9. John succeeds current chief executive Aurélio Lopes, who remains with FCB as chairman of Brasil and Latin America, and former chief creative Joanna Monteiro, who has moved on to lead special creative projects for FCB’s global network.

Energy BBDO

With Andrés Ordóñez leaving the agency, Josh Gross and Pedro Pérez have been named co-chief creative officers. The pair have been at the agency since 2014.

California Pizza Kitchen

California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) has appointed Scott Hargrove in the dual role of executive vice president and global chief marketing officer. The wide remit seeks to augment recent efforts to bolster the chain’s data insights and digital teams in a bid to communicate its ‘guest-first’ experience to potential patrons.

Leo Burnett

Leo Burnett Chicago has appointed Jordan Doucetter to the role of chief creative officer. She will report to its president and chief strategy officer Emma Montgomery.

McCann Health

McCann Health has promoted Hilary Gentile to the newly-created position of global chief strategy officer. She has been with McCann Health for 20 years and has served as the chief strategy officer for North America since 2015.

Rachna Bhasin, founder and chief exec of EQ Partners and a co-founder of Pacifica Investments, has been appointed to Shutterstock's board of directors.

One Club for Creativity

The One Club for Creativity, a non-profit organization with a mission to support and celebrate the success of the global creative community, has promoted Kasia Karolak into a newly-created role to lead its gender equality programming. In the new position of Gender Equality Program Manager, she will oversee all of The One Club’s existing programs and events on the issue and develop new initiatives.
