Salesforce ties up partnership with Alibaba to increase its presence in China

Salesforce and Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba have joined forces to distribute their products.

The products that Salesforce plans to sell in China include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud and Salesforce Platform.

The partnership will see Alibaba make Salesforce available to customers in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, while Salesforce will become the exclusive enterprise customer relationship management (CRM) product suite sold by Alibaba.

The products that Salesforce plans to sell in China include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud and Salesforce Platform.

Salesforce has been in China since 2008, but has had a limited presence in the country because of the cloud market has been dominated by the likes of Alibaba.

Alibaba yesterday announced a new push into the US, opening up its Alibaba.com platform to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in North America for the first time, meaning that US businesses can sell goods on the B2B e-commerce site.
