The Drum Presents: This is my YouTube - Football edition
In this roundtable episode of This Is My YouTube, presenter Russell Kane talks to former England footballer Sue Smith, presenter Emma Conybeare and Copa90’s Paolo Nieddu about how the platform helps to fuel their love of football.
Nieddu says some of his favourite videos to watch on the platform are the fan reactions, “watching someone react so emotionally to something that’s happening hundreds of miles away across the world is something you can’t recreate in any other sport,” he explains.
The panel also discusses how YouTube has changed the game when it comes to allowing fans access to their favourite players, highlighting that fans are becoming more and more interested in the personal lives of their favourite plays, as well as the fact that the platform is a great tool for fans to discover new players.
The first series of This Is My YouTube also includes a round-table episode based around fashion, and has interviews with comedian and actor David Walliams and DJ Yoda, which will all feature on The Drum.
