As part of a new series, This Is My YouTube, presenter Russell Kane talks to the actor, comedian, children’s author and Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams about the videos he has loved over the years.

Walliams discusses how he uses YouTube as a constant source of inspiration, turning to old clips of Dame Edna and Monty Python to spark his creativity and even how an old clip of a Victoria Wood sketch inspired him to swim the channel for Sport Relief.

Kane also points out the success of the Britain’s Got Talent channel and asks Walliams if, as a judge on the show, he can tell when an act is likely to go viral. Walliams replies “you know when there’s a great moment, and when everyone’s laughing and you’re laughing that you’re probably onto something good” and uses the example of singer Susan Boyle as to how the streaming platform helped to launch her career. "One day she was just sat at home with her cats, and the next day she was the most famous woman in the world" he said.

The first series of This Is My YouTube also includes episodes based around fashion and football clips and has interviews with radio and tv presented Sarah Cox, and DJ Yoda, which will all feature on The Drum.
