Budweiser has taken inspiration from history as it lends full-throated backing to the England Women’s Senior football team by drawing upon Queen Elizabeth I’s famous ‘Heart and Stomach of a King’ speech for inspiration.

As the official partner of the squad, the beer brand is calling on fans to lend their support to the team by bringing the power of history to bear in a chest-thumping display of national pride to fire up passions ahead of the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup.

This echo from the past will be brought bang up to date with a line-up of contemporary powerful English women hailing from the world’s of sport, music and film including Bond actress Naomie Harris; boxer Nicola Adams and singer-songwriter Jessie Ware.

Tatiana Stadukhina, marketing director at Budweiser, said: “As official partner to the team, we wanted to honour the incredible women who make up the Lionesses and play our small part in shining a light on them as they take centre-stage at the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup.

“As powerful words originally spoken by a powerful woman, delivered by powerful women today, this is a fitting send-off and one we hope will rally the nation.”

Budweiser is heavily invested in English football with Bud Light being the official partner of the senior men’s team with the Budweiser brand also serving as the official beer of Wembley Stadium.
