KP Snacks acquired the premium crisp brand Tyrrells in May of last year from The Hershey Company, who had bought the brand less than a year before from Amplify Snacks Brands. It then acquired the Popchips brand in Europe in July.

Following the acquisitions and the appointment of Kevin McNail as its marketing director back in October, KP Snacks announced it would be tidying up its agency arrangements by reducing its roster of agencies from four to two.

In March, Engine Group - which already handled it's McCoy's and Butterkist accounts - picked up the Hula Hops and Pom-Bear business from BMB.

This left Tyrrells, Popchips and KP Nuts up for grabs, who were previously held by Weiden + Kennedy, And Rising and BMB respectively.

The pitch was run in-house, with St Luke's picking up all three accounts.

Discussing the appointment of St Luke's, Kevin McNair marketing director of KP Snacks said: “St Luke’s have clearly demonstrated they understand the scale of ambition we have for our brands and a strong path to get there. They’ll be starting work on launching a new creative platform for Tyrrells which we cannot wait to bring to the market.”

Adding to this, St Luke's chief executive Neil Henderson said: “It’s a privilege to be given the chance to work on some of the best known and innovative food brands in the UK. And it makes Friday Nibbles at St Luke’s even more of a treat.”
