Kairos eSports, a marketing agency for eSports and gaming, is claiming to be the first agency of its type to put a flag in the ground and acquire a team to compete in the space.

The agency creates bespoke gaming and eSports marketing campaigns. However, now it is cutting out the middleman to take a more direct route to grant marketers access to its own stable of professionals and compete in eSports for greater agency exposure.

The Kairos eSports team — comprising Joshua-Lee ‘Joshh’ Sheppard, Adam ‘Defrag’ Mathews, Nicholas ‘Nolson’ Nolson-Belton, Connor ‘Weeman’ Chilton and Cameron ‘Cammy’ McKilligan — will join Kairos with immediate effect. The roster will compete at the Call of Duty World League (CWL) London on 3-5 May.

Team captain Joshh said: “Kairos eSports' experience in the sector and desire to put their money where its mouth is shows its commitment to the industry. In a rapidly growing but ever-changing industry, working with a team as talented as Kairos’ is hugely exciting; having a marketing agency behind us offers an entirely new dimension in this rapidly expanding space.”

Drew Townley, director of Kairos Esports, added: “As experts in the eSports sector, this deal shows our desire to put capital behind our convictions. Not only are these guys competitors of the highest calibre, but they also fit with the ethos of the business that hard work and determination directly leads to results.”

The team will compete this week against eSports organisations such as MindFreak and AllianceGG for a share of $75,000. Kairos previously signed a Fifa player from West Ham last year. The marketing agency currently works with clients such as KFC and Vodafone.
