This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below. This week includes moves from B&Q, Global, Snap, Amazon and Disney.

EMEA people are on the move

DDB

DDB has appointed Toby Pschorr as chief executive of its Volkswagen bespoke agency, Voltage Worldwide, leveraging his long-term relationship with the brand.

In the new role, Pschorr, will lead the custom agency from its Berlin HQ.

VMLY&R

VMLY&R has hired Karen Boswell to fill the newly-created role of chief experience officer for EMEA coinciding with the launch of its new 'customer experience (CX) 'centre of excellence' which will serve the market out of London.

B&Q

House of Fraser's former chief marketing officer Paddy Earnshaw has joined B&Q as customer director. Earnshaw held the chief marketing role at House of Fraser for one year after being appointed October 2017.

Global

Media and entertainment group Global has confirmed a quartet of key appointments to take the reins of its newly integrated outdoor division. The hires are led by Leon Taviansky, formerly chief executive of Exterion Media, who has been appointed chief executive. Jonathan Lewis, formerly chief executive of Outdoor Plus, becomes executive director of the outdoor division.

The pair will be aided by Jason Cotterrell who joins the outdoor offering as chief operating officer having spent time as a chief strategy officer and managing director at Exterion Media UK.

Gumtree

Digital trading platform Gumtree has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of a new chief marketing officer.

Newly installed chief marketing officer Claire Howard-Jones has assumed responsibility for marketing across Gumtree’s full product portfolio, drawing on two decades of experience with brands such as Amazon, Sainsbury’s and British Airways.

Bauer Music Group

Bauer Music Group has simplified its leadership team in the UK, by expanding the roles of managing directors Liz Watkinson, Helen Morris, Niall Clarkson and Kim Slaney. Therese Fiala has been appointed as head of brand marketing.

Saatchi & Saatchi

Dan Treichel has been hired by Saatchi & Saatchi as its executive creative director. He will replace Rob Potts and has been tasked with running its creative department.

Dentsu Aegis Network

Dentsu Aegis Network Leeds has appointed Tim Ainsworth as strategy director to help drive the next stage of its evolution.

Cheil

Cheil Worldwide has appointed Ricardo Catalono as chief operating officer of Cheil France. He will lead the agency's growth in France and orchestrate the extension of data-driven marketing skills.

Unlimited Group

Unlimited Group's chief executive, Michael Richards, departed the company at the end of March.

Posterscope

Posterscope has appointed Simon Woodward as global commercial director. In this newly created role, Woodward will provide trading and commercial support to Posterscope’s 35 offices around the world.

APAC people on the move

KPMG Australia

KPMG Australia has appointed Jarther Taylor, the former chief executive at customer experience agency Datarati, as marketing director. He will be tasked with leading KPMG’s marketing function and helping to integrate brand, marketing and customer experience into the management consultancy’s offering.

Wunderman Thompson

Wunderman Thompson has out a new leadership team in place for Greater China following the departure of China chief executive Bryce Whitwam.

Carter Chow will replace Whitwam as chief exec for China. He joined the network from McCann late in 2016. In addition, Evan Teng has been named managing director of Wunderman Thompson Taiwan with Jill Chang as managing partner.

CNN International Commercial

CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) has appointed Phil Nelson as chief operating officer to lead CNN’s operational and international growth initiatives outside of advertising sales.

Dynamic Yield

The AI-powered platform, Dynamic Yield has appointed Mark van den Haak as vice president of sales for Asia Pacific. He will be responsible for leading its business in APAC and overseeing sales.

Disney

Disney has secured Fox Television Group's chief marketing officer Shannon Ryan as president of marketing for ABC Entertainment and Disney Television Studios.

Amazon

Amazon has poached Andrew Saunders from Tastemade to head up its entertainment marketing division. Saunders, who has relocated from New York City to Los Angeles to take the role, will sit within XCM, Amazon’s cross category, cross channel global marketing team.

Snap

Snapchat has hired its first chief marketing officer in McDonald's marketer Kenny Mitchell. The exec will join Snap's senior leadership team in June, reporting into founder Evan Spiegel.

Laundry Service

Laundry Service has hired Allison Baker as its creative director. She joins from BBDO New York.

Group Nine Media

Group Nine Media has hired Brian Lee as executive vice president of commerce. He will be responsible for creating new opportunities around its community of fans.

TBWA\Chiat\Day

TBWA\Chiat\Day has added three leaders to its executive team. Michael Claypool is joining as managing director, Simon Wassef as chief strategy officer and Kelly Rosen as director of new business development.
