The Drum Recommends: Commended is highlighting Cool Blue Brand Communications who helped Huntsman with an exhibition to launch their new product.

In this series, we explore the finest work created by The Drum Recommended agencies. We will highlight top case studies to guide and inspire you in your journey to select a new agency relationship.

Last year the Recommended Agency Register (RAR) was rebranded as The Drum Recommends to bring it in line with owner The Drum. It remains committed to partnering brands with the correct agency using data and unique industry expertise.

THE CLIENT

Huntsman is a global giant, employing more than 5,000 people worldwide. It is one of the biggest manufacturers of Titanium Dioxide pigments with headquarters in Wynyard in the North East of England.

THE BRIEF

To create an unforgettable exhibition space for the launch of Altiris, a new ground-breaking product. To design the interior of the new headquarters and to inspire and communicate innovation to some of the key values and ethos of multi-national Huntsman.

Altiris is an innovative pigment that when added to paint or other coatings of any colour, reflects the heat of the sun. It is a product capable of making lives in unbearably hot climates more comfortable, saving billions of dollars on air conditioning bills and helping to combat global warming. The benefits of Altiris were undeniable.

THE EXHIBITION – A FEAST FOR THE SENSES

We devised a geodesic dome that certainly stood out from the crowd. The exterior of the dome used colours and triangles from the Altiris branding. Once inside the experience was highly sensory and visually engaging – with a 360? film and temperature changes immersing visitors in the story of the product. We also produced a highly effective range of marketing materials from fold-out, dome-shaped invitations to thermally sensitive colour-changing business cards, as well as online tools such as emailers, videos and interactive content for the microsite.

EXHIBITION MATERIALS

We developed exhibition materials for the K Show, a lead trade show for plastics and rubber.

Utilising the brand guidelines and focusing on core messages of company heritage and world-beating expertise, we created a visually engaging event stand with supporting marketing literature.

PIGMENT APP

We developed a colour picking app which complemented Huntsman’s bespoke colour making service for its industrial clients. Designed to speed up the order colouring process, the app was capable of working out the different pigment volumes required to make bespoke colours for customers and included the new Altiris product.

TITANIUM HOUSE

An inspirational and innovative purpose-built premise for Huntsman HQ, designed to showcase its caring values and the ethos of the company.

We raised the profile of the brand, positioning it as a world leader through creating aspirational working spaces. From an employee recognition screen in reception, multi-media centres in the bistro to wall-to-wall graphics and photography, each space created a global feel to the UK workspace – allowing employees from around the world to join and share the environment.

RESULTS

24 million eyeballs reached through editorial coverage

Over 2,000 people visited the Altiris stand

£360,000 advertising value achieved

This campaign also won Internal Communications of the year award at the CIPR PRide Awards.
