Publicis appoints Fanny Yum as managing partner and CEO for Shanghai

Publicis Worldwide has appointed Fanny Yum as chief executive for Shanghai, a role she’s taken on in addition to becoming managing partner of its Communications division.

Yum has joined from investment firm Charoen Pokphand Group, where she was chief growth officer for Zheng Yuan China.

Prior to that she served in a variety of ad agencies, including McCann Erickson Hong Kong, BBDO Shanghai, Bates Beijing and DFCB Beijing. She was also the chief executive of MullenLowe China.

In the newly created role of managing partner of Publicis Communications, Shanghai, Yum will be responsible for bolstering the strategic alliance and business development among the group’s agencies as well as reinforcing the Power of One strategy.

In taking on the chief exec role of Publicis Worldwide Shanghai she will also lead the operations of Publicis Life Brands.

Yum will report to Michael Lee, chief executive of Publicis Groupe Greater China.
