Digital trading platform Gumtree has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of a new chief marketing officer.
Newly installed CMO Claire Howard-Jones has assumed responsibility for marketing across Gumtree’s full product portfolio, drawing on two decades of experience with brands such as Amazon, Sainsbury’s and British Airways.
In tandem with this appointment, Jones has also been named head of motors, cementing the acquisition of Motors.co.uk in February.
Howard-Jones said: “Joining a brand at a time of growth as CMO presents an exciting challenge – one I can’t wait to get started on. Gumtree is a well-loved brand and I’m excited to bring my experience to help solidify the new brand proposition and elevate our growing motors offering.”
The pair are joined by Katherine Cunliffe who has been promoted to head of product – motors.
Gumtree has previously experimented with optical illusions to show how its app can aid mobile purchases.
