Last year the Recommended Agency Register (RAR) was rebranded as The Drum Recommends to bring it in line with owner The Drum. It remains committed to partnering brands with the correct agency using data and unique industry expertise.

Magpies Nest is an award-winning independent retailer based in Tameside. Opening in 2013, in a tiny shop in Stalybridge selling handbags and accessories, they have grown the business by opening a second store, expanding their product range and picking up multiple awards along the way.

Having developed and grown their business, maximising shop sales, they still needed to take full advantage of online sales. The old website was difficult for customers to navigate, not visually appealing to the target audience and most importantly didn’t sell their products.

The Solution

The new website was built on the latest version of WooCommerce, taking advantage of the latest features available, and providing a familiar administrator dashboard for the client. The new website is designed with the target audience in mind and allows the client to upload products, create new pages, new blog articles and process customer orders with ease.

In addition to the eCommerce website, we delivered a bespoke solution that synchronises the shop database with the website database. This allows the shop and the website to “talk” to each other, ensuring that the correct stock levels are maintained. The website is now making daily sales and saving the client time by not having to update the stock manually.
