This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below. This week includes moves from VCCP, MediaMonks, Ogilvy, Twitch, Refinery29 and Carat.

EMEA people are on the move

Lippincott

Lippincott has hired Greg Handrick as senior partner and director for the EMEA region. Based in its London office, his role will encompass client leadership, talent development, financial stewardship, and fueling collaboration with global management consultancy Oliver Wyman, of which Lippincott is a part.

Blue449

Simon Davis has resigned from his role as chief executive officer of both Blue449 and Spark Foundry in the UK, just weeks after parent group Publicis Media consolidated the latter into Spark Foundry's global network.

4Creative

Alice Tonge is to step down as head of Channel 4's in-house agency 4Creative this summer, after 15 years with the business. She has not yet revealed her next move, simply saying she is taking a short break before moving on to her next role.

Twitch

Twitch has expanded its client offering with the appointment of its first executive creative director, Byron Rex Phillipson. The veteran creative who spent his career in London and in South Africa joins from Hulu.

VMLY&R

VMLY&R has capped its newly assembled EMEA executive leadership team with the appointment of Andrew Dimitriou as chief executive for the region. Dimitriou joins 10 other new arrivals across the business who will collectively shoulder responsibility for growing the agency’s capabilities, client partner relationships and connecting the network across disciplines.

MediaMonks

The S4 Capital-owned digital production company, MediaMonks, has appointed Kieve Ducharme as vice-president of growth, as it readies itself for further growth in the UK.

PHD Global Business

Rohan Tambyrajah has been promoted from head of strategy at PHD Global Business to the newly-created role of chief strategy officer of the division. He will focus on the agency's global clients.

VCCP

Peter Gasston has joined VCCP as its new innovation lead. The role will see Gasston enable and connect emerging technologies, startups and partners into VCCP, inspiring the agency’s creative teams to create engaging experiences at the intersection of brands and consumers.

APAC people on the move

Ogilvy Malaysia

Ogilvy has promoted two of its longest-serving employees, Nizwani Shahar and Campbell Cannon, to co-chief executives of the group's Malaysia office. The move marks the end of the agency's short working partnership with JWT.

Happy Mcgarrybowen

Dentsu Aegis Network has promoted Samarjit Choudhrey to president, as part of its new leadership team at Happy Mcgarrybowen in India. Soumitra Karnik has also been appointed as chief creative officer.

Carat

Tom Andrews is returning to Carat to lead the Disney account, following two years at Energy Australia.

McCann Sydney

McCann Sydney has appointed Darren Spiller as chief creative officer, and Hazelle Klønhammer as its managing director. Spiller joins from DDB Melbourne where he was chief creative officer. Klønhammer joins after the closure of Ugly, the creative agency she co-founded.

Havas Group Singapore

Havas Group Singapore has appointed Mallika Shankarnarayan as chief strategy officer for Havas Village Singapore. In her new role, Shankarnarayan will lead strategy across all disciplines of the Havas Village offering, including creative, media social and digital.

Sweetshop

Sweetshop has appointed Greg Fyson as executive producer for Australia. Based in Sydney, Greg will work alongside Llew Griffiths, executive producer and report into managing director, Edward Pontifex.

Refinery29

Refinery29 has appointed Jessica Andrews to deputy director, fashion. In this role, Andrews will oversee Refinery29’s fashion team, focusing specifically on driving content and conversations that tap into the scope of this fast-changing industry.

FCB Chicago

FCB Chicago has promoted Lisa Bright to executive vice-president, executive creative director. In her new role, she will oversee all creative work for Cottonelle, Kleenex, NextEra Energy, The Clorox Company.

Partners + Napier

Partners + Napier has promoted senior vice-president Mike Baron from group creative director to executive creative director. In his newly expanded position, Baron will continue to oversee creative work for the Rochester, New York-based agency’s growing health and wellness vertical, while playing a key role on the agency growth team and the operations team.

DDB San Francisco

John McCarthy has been named as president of DDB San Francisco, tasked with spearheading its growth on the West Coast and overseeing its client roster and employees.

Barbarian

Courtney Berry has been promoted to the newly-created role of managing director at Barbarian. She will be responsible for implementing Barbarian's strategic vision.

Havas New York

Havas New York has named Matthew Anderson chief marketing officer. He will oversee all marketing, communications, and business development for the flagship creative agency. Anderson joins from BBH New York, where he was chief growth officer and head of strategic partnerships.

Chemistry

To help to continue to build its agency culture, Chemistry has brought on Michael Micetich as associate creative director and copywriter. He will be based out of Chemistry’s Atlanta office.
