IPG makes raft of hires to adtech division in APAC

Interpublic Group is continuing to bolster its adtech division, Cadreon, with a slew of senior hires to the Asia Pacific team.

The agency brought in Erica Schmidt as its global chief executive last March. It then poached WPP’s Sean Muzzy to the newly-created role of president of North America and, earlier this year, former Mindshare exec Seun Odeneye was hired to lead its UK arm.

It has today (8 April) announced that Lani Jamieson, formerly head of digital media at DWA, Dentsu Aegis Network, and programmatic director Omnicom Media Group has joined as head of Cadreon Singapore.

Jamieson (pictured) will be reporting to the chief executive of IPG Mediabrands Singapore, David Haddad.

Haddad said: “The introduction of this role is a pivotal juncture in our strategy of investing in this critical area of our business to service our clients’ needs. Cadreon has been a huge growth driver in Singapore; and we have reached the point where it requires that next level of leadership to build on our strategic plans for the future.”

The APAC team has further expanded with the creation of three new roles; APAC client partner, associate director learning and development, and associate director product marketing and support.

Carolina Jung has moved from the company's Canadian arm to take on the role of client partner while former MediaMath adtech manager Marrah Africa has joined as associate director, learning & development.

Finally, Maggie Woo has been appointed from eBay as associate director for product marketing and support.

Yean Cheong, head of Cadreon, said: “We have expanded our regional team to empower our local Cadreon leaders across APAC to champion the tradecraft in their markets, and spearhead thought leadership geared towards achieving their clients’ goals.”

In addition, Paras Mehta has taken on the role of business head of Cadreon India.

All appointments are effective immediately.

It comes as Cadreon experiences a period of notable growth since launching in 2017. Speaking on IPG’s full year results, chief executive Michael Roth said the agency achieved “outstanding results globally” alongside fellow digital marketing shop Reprise.
