Newsworks has confirmed that its chief executive Vanessa Clifford will stand down as head of the marketing agency for national newsbrands at the end of the month.

Newsworks CEO Vanessa Clifford to stand down within days
Vanessa Clifford first arrived at Newsworks back in 2012 as client services and strategy director before her elevation to CEO in 2016.
Over the course of this tenure, Clifford oversaw a number of high-profile projects, notably in defining the effectiveness of newsbrands via Planning for Profit research.
Newsworks executive chair Tracy De Groose commented: “Vanessa has brought vision and leadership during a hugely important time for our industry. We thank her for creating foundations on which we can build, and she leaves with our best wishes.
“The need for a vibrant and effective case for newsbrands remains stronger than ever. Our industry continues to face intense disruption and resetting the legacy narrative is a priority. The latest PAMCo data underlines a compelling story: national newsbrands are growing their reach, as consumers recognise the value of trusted journalism and advertisers embrace quality, brand safe environments.”
De Groose assumed the executive chair role at Newsworks in September of last year.
