NFL's Andrew Luck and MLB's Mike Trout spin a disco battle for BodyArmor
Two of sports' highest paid players in the US, quarterback Andrew Luck and center fielder Mike Trout, have put sports competition behind them for a bout on the disco dance floor in a spot for sports drink BodyArmor.

Luck and Trout have hung up their uniforms – temporarily – in favor of disco duds for the ‘Disco Battle’ commercial. In the action, the two take to a lighted floor, a la Saturday Night Fever, Luck in a colorful patterned shirt and floppy hat and Trout in a loud silk shirt with gold chains. There, the two pull out ridiculous dance moves in a groan-worthy dance-off.
A voiceover says “Andrew Luck and Mike Trout wouldn’t get into an outdated disco battle, so why would they choose an outdated sports drink?” The two turn to the camera and say, “We wouldn’t.” The “outdated” drink alludes to Gatorade.
Fellow sports superstar, Kobe Bryant, served as creative director for the ad and the campaign, which also features another spot starring NBA phenoms James Harden and Donovan Mitchell. In that spot, Harden and Mitchell poke fun at outdated ways to fill out an NCAA Tournament bracket (typewriter, rotary phone) to call for athletes – including Luck and Trout – to evolve all aspects of their game in order to compete in a bracket challenge.
BodyArmor is the official sports drink of the NCAA and NCAA Championships. The ‘Disco Battle’ ad will run on broadcast TV during March Madness, SportsCenter and MLB Sunday Night Baseball.
