Vice alights on Katie Drummond as senior VP of digital
Based in Vice’s Brooklyn HQ and reporting directly to Josh Tyrangiel, executive vice president of Vice News, Drummond will assume responsibility for bringing video production in line with editorial goals, establishing a consistent tone of voice, talent development and approach.
In a statement Tyrangiel said: “Katie’s one of the most talented editors and managers in our field. She’s serious about making great digital things and brings out the best in the people she works with.”
A veteran of digital media and publishing for over a decade Drummond will assume responsibilities vacated by Ciel Hunter - who quit as head of content in January after 12 years’ service.
Drummond arrives at Vice at a time of turmoil with the business in the process of slashing its workforce by 10%, equivalent to 250 employees, in order to stabilise its ad business.
