Sipsmith Gin draws on craft expertise with ‘Mr Swan’ animation

Sipsmith Gin is celebrating the craftsmanship that goes into producing small batches of gin by bringing to life an elaborate animated world in ‘Mr Swan’.

The traditional stop-motion film has been produced by Ogilvy UK to bring the distillation process to life as viewed by an anthropomorphic fowl; from dipping bottle tops in wax to seeking out the finest junipers.

Attention to detail extends to handstitched pockets on Mr Swan’s suit with even the copper stills and bottles painstakingly threaded together.

The campaign will run across cinema, TVC and social media from April.

Kate Moorcroft, global marketing director, Sipsmith said, “We are delighted to bring the Sipsmith story to our audience, in this way for the first time, through the wonderful world of Mr. Swan. Stop motion animation felt like the perfect way to tell the Sipsmith story as the skilled craftsmanship behind the creation of the film (with no detail overlooked, however small) resonated with our commitment to handcrafting Sipsmith Gin, making sure no corners are cut and no compromises are made.”

Sipsmith handed strategic and creative responsibilities to Ogilvy in 2016.
