Bud Light struck first in #corntroversy during the Super Bowl, calling out Miller Lite and Coors Lite for using corn syrup. After a back and forth that still continues, Miller Lite is taking a big jab at Bud Light’s ‘Dilly Dilly’ world by imagining what it might be like behind the scenes of its epic Game of Thrones/Bud Light mashup.

Miller Lite Aftermath

Miller Lite swipes back at Bud Light

A set of ads, created by DDB, airing during the NCAA tournament, reminds drinkers that, in the real world, taste is what matters.

In ‘Aftermath,’ the supposed carnage of the GOT dragon torching the Bud Knight and all the denizens of the fictional medieval Bud Light universe is seen, centering on the fallen Knight. We then hear the director yell cut, and we close in to see that the Bud Knight is a nerdy guy in a blue costume. As he ventures to the service tent, he passes up a Bud Light and instead grabs a Miller Lite, as do his set mates.

In ‘Snow,’ the snow-covered set where Bud Light tried to return the corn syrup vats is focused on, with two guys in stockades trying to drink Bud Lights that are out of their reach. Again, the director yells cut and the crew grabs Miller Lite.

As the NCAA tournament is Miller Lite’s heaviest two weeks of advertising of the year, the brand will be running this creative throughout the tournament across TV, digital and social channels.
