Talon buys Grandesign as it looks toward global expansion

Talon is laying down roots on the west coast with the acquisition of out-of-home (OOH) media agency Grandesign.

Talon, a UK-based independent OOH media company, already operates in New York. It will now add San Diego, Grandesign's headquarters, as a hub.

The move is part of Talon's larger efforts to expand globally and comes after naming a new chief executive officer, Barry Cupples, in January.

Talon’s founder, Eric Newnham, said: “This is arguably our most exciting move to date with the US offering real opportunity to embrace our approach that has brought success to date. Data and technology [are] enabling real differentiation and growth for us globally, and this is part of a wider expansion programme that is just beginning.”

Grandesign has additional offices in Los Angeles, Denver, St. Louis and Atlanta and all will take on Talon's name. The acquisition only involves Grandesign's traditional vertical; its experiential business will continue as a standalone entity.

Grandesign's founder and chief executive officer Aaron Gaeir will remain, taking on the role of chief revenue officer. He will report to Talon managing partner Adrian Skelton.
