This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below. This weeks roundup features moves from Dentsu Aegis Network, British GQ, Mr. President, Media Monks, PHD Taiwan and Droga5.

EMEA people are on the move

ORM

Digital agency ORM is has made two new senior hires, appointing Leona Bell as the agency’s inaugural head of data and Martin Bui as head of experience design.

PPA

The former chief executive of Immediate Media, Tom Bureau, has been named PPA's deputy chairman. He has been a board member and part of the executive committee since 2012.

Dentsu Aegis Network

The former global president of Carat, Will Swayne, is to become the global president of client solutions of the agency’s parent company, Dentsu Aegis Network.

Gyro London

Gyro London has named David Curzon its executive creative director, replacing David Harris. Curzon joins from Saatchi & Saatchi pro.

Hiyacar

Hiyacar has made a raft of new hires. Eléonore Kuentz joins as head of product with Holly Le Heux joining as android developer to help the company secure growth. In addition Andy Barnes joins as member support.

Copa90

Copa90 has boosted its senior team by hiring Natalie Broad for the newly-created role of partnership and media sales director. Broad will lead the agency-facing sales team and work on partnerships.

Fuse

Fuse has appointed two new roles: Tom Goodchild as marketing science director and Nikki Sulentic as creative director. Goodchild and Sulentic will both report directly to Alex Charkham, head of strategy.

Gumtree

Gumtree has strengthened its marketing team with two senior hires. Lucy Tugby joins as senior marketing manager with a remit to manage Gumtree’s B2B marketing programme, with Lucy Cox appointed as internal comms and culture manager.

VCCP Retail

Dan Colley has joined VCCP’s retail division as executive creative director. He will oversee the output of the agency, and joins from Cherry London where he was executive creative director.

British GQ

British GQ has promoted Jonathan Heaf from features director to the newly created role of chief content officer. In his newly expanded role, Heaf will coordinate all print, digital and event content across British GQ’s platforms.

Ingenuity London

Ingenuity London has appointed Rachel Langton as head of connect to drive forward the agency’s new Connect Events, which will launching in September across Europe and the US.

Mr. President

Mr. President has brought new creative talent into the agency by hiring senior creative team Elliott Tiney and Anders Wendel.

VaynerMedia London

VaynerMedia has appointed Daniel Fox-Evans as group creative director London. He will lead and oversee creative output for the VaynerMedia’s global, regional, and local market campaigns.

George P. Johnson

George P. Johnson has appointed Matt Box to the role of senior strategist. Box joins from VCCP, where he held the position of planner.

APAC people on the move

MediaMonks

After opening offices in Mumbai and Bangalore, Sir Martin Sorrell's S4 Capital has made Poran Malani director of its new Indian operation. Poran has been enlisted to offer Media Monks’ digital and content offerings to the Indian market.

TBWA

TBWA's Asia president, Ian Pearman, is leaving the agency to join a Singapore-based consumer services start-up. Pearman joined TBWA more than two years ago from AMV BBDO London, where he held the chief executive position.

Dentsu Aegis Network

Nigel Morris has announced that he will leave the Dentsu Aegis Network after 26 years at the company. Currently serving as a chief strategy and innovation officer, Morris will leave as of March, with no replacement immediately announced.

Omnicom Media Group (OMG)

Torie Henderson has stepped down from her role as chief executive of Omnicom Media Group, Southeast Asia and India. Although she has been with the company in various roles for 13 years, she has only been in this current role since 2017.

VMLY&R

VMLY&R's Malaysia group managing director, Lisa Hezila, is leaving the agency after 15 years. She will leave at the end of March and hand over duties to Eric Ho.

PHD Taiwan

PHD Taiwan has appointed Geri Hsu as general manager for the agency. Hsu will report into Omnicom Media Group Taiwan chief executive, Kelly Huang.

Twitter

The co-founder and former chief executive of Twitter, Evan Williams, has stepped down from the board to focus on “other projects”. Although he was due to retire from the position in 2021, Williams will depart the Twitter board at the end of this month.

Droga5

Droga5 New York has promoted Casey Rand and Karen Land Short to the roles of executive creative directors. The two join the ranks of the creative department leadership, led by chief creative officer, Neil Heymann. Previously, Rand and Short served as group creative directors.

Carousel

Dick Gordon has been hired by Carousel as senior editor. He was previously partner/editor at editorial company Spot Welders for 15 years.

Wunderman Seattle

Anthony Reeves has been appointed chief creative officer at Wunderman Seattle. Reeves will be responsible for building and implementing breakthrough experiences, services and communications that inspire growth.

Telemundo

Telemundo has hired Claudia Franklin as vice-president of entertainment publicity. She will be based in Miami and report to Alfredo Richard, senior vice-president, corporate communications, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.

Firewood Marketing

Firewood Marketing has expanded its team of senior leaders by promoting Jeff Reese to senior vice president, group account director. He will manage agency teams supporting key technology clients and will serve as a marketing strategist and account leader for Firewood’s growing roster of clients.
