Apple tasks veteran marketer Frank Casanova with making AR vision a reality

Casanova first fell into Apple’s orbit in 1997 when he became a senior director of MacOS X graphics, audio and video, a role he held for a decade before making the shift to marketing.

Apple is increasingly incorporating AR technology, where a digital overlay is presented in front of the real world, into its devices through a new generation of cameras, positioning components and software within its latest iPhone and iPad models.

Last summer Apple signaled its interest in a new form of augmented reality spectacles when it purchased smart lens maker Akonia Holographics.
