The Drum Arms in Austin, Texas will play host to Springbox’s annual Valiente Awards, which this year will honor senior marketers from the likes of the Amazon, Unilever, the NFL and the New York Times.

It’s the sixth year the Texan agency has hosted the awards to recognize marketers who have disrupted the status quo and embraced the role of the modern marketing professional.

Nominees were evaluated across five categories: ‘inspire’ (build brands with a sense of purpose), ‘be bold’ (disrupt the status quo), ‘connect’ (deliver meaningful customer experiences across channels), ‘innovate’ (implement new ways of engaging customers living a digital lifestyle) and ‘transform’ (build organizational capabilities to become modern marketers).

John Ellett, chief executive officer of Springbox, said: “Valiente loosely translates from Spanish to bold and courageous, which is the true intent of these awards. While there are a lot of awards for marketers and chief marketing officers, those awards are usually focused on the actual work.

“The purpose of these awards is to celebrate the marketing change agents who have shown courage, ingenuity and spirit in delivering remarkable results for their organizations.”

The winners will be announced on March 10th at The Drum Arms, The Drum’s travelling pop-up pub that provides an antidote to conference dreariness with pints, panels, and parties.

The pub will open its doors at the same time as SXSW in Austin March 9th- March 11th at Drinks Lounge, 2001 E. Cesar Chavez, as well as popping up during Advertising Week Europe, Cannes Lions, Advertising Week New York, Martech Festival and CES over the coming year.
